DealTable is a totally custom reverse auction site based entirely on WordPress. When the site operators came up with the idea to do reverse auctions for auto parts they contacted SimplerComputing to get some advice on a wide range of issues.

We consulted with the folks at DealTable on issues that included marketing strategies, payment systems, income generation, site design, site features, server requirements, and much more.

Then we created the entire platform from the ground up, including custom PayPal integration. The site now allows anyone to register and post reverse auctions for any car part their might be looking for. Users choose whether to run the auction for 1 day, 3 days, or 5 days, select the exact car specs including year, make, and model all based on a custom automobile database that we built. Users can also upload images of the part they need and post updates to the auction as it proceeds, and potential bidders can ask questions.

When auctions end, buyers and sellers receive email messages about the results of their auctions along with information on how to make payment and each participants relevent contact information.

While DealTable is a totally customized reverse auction system for auto parts, it could be readily converted to serve other types of auction materials, and can also be converted to handle regular auctions.
